Holiday Cheer Abounded as Mike Soper takes down another double point night!

Because of the holidays the 12/17 night at The Mayfield Tavern was the conclusion of the Free Poker Network's Fall Season at the Maverick Poker League. That made it double points night as well and although Mike Baker points lead was insurmountable, seats and bragging rights were still up for grabs. With 21 Mavericks out it was not only a fun night, but oh so competitive as well. Our opening stanza saw Steve Herston and Candace Sutter run true with both winning their respective tables...the games were on! Raisin' Rick Hoag put on a late charge in game two taking down his table and Lewis Iler, without his trusty Oscar the Pig, still managed to win his table. Going into the third and final game it was Iler with the points lead but just one point ahead of Mike Soper who, on the strength of two second place finishes was poised for a nightly win. Four other players were not far behind which set a very close race the third game. It was Iler who would stumble first leaving things in doubt but Mike Soper took care of that by winning his third game and the night, with Lewis Iler, Rick Hoag, Amber Soper and Steve Herston finishing 2-5 respectively, for a thrilling finish to Maverick Poker for 2024. With the close of the season, it was Mike Baker taking down the season points championship followed by Mike Soper, Lewis Iler, Cliff Jones and Mike Pjeter in second through fifth and all receiving a seat to the Royal Court Event! Our hope is a happy and safe 2024 Christmas and New Year and we will see you all on the felt in 2025!
