Tuesday night at The Mayfield Tavern was nothing short of electrifying as 17 players, including newcomer Justin Macsuga, gathered for what proved to be a pivotal evening of league play. With double points up for grabs, the stakes were high, and the competition fierce as no fewer than 8 players were vying for the coveted league lead.

Scott Sutter, a consistent force at the top throughout the Winter Season, was once again showing his prowess on the table, but he faced stiff competition from Mike Soper, who had been on a hot streak, winning the last two weeks and surging to second place in the standings.

The evening began with both Scott and Mike securing victories in their opening games, setting the stage for a tense battle. However, it was Candace Sutter who emerged as a surprise contender, taking second place behind her father in the first game—a result that would prove crucial in the final tally.

As the night progressed, players gave their all, but going into the third game, Candace Sutter held a slim two-point lead over Mike Soper, Lucas McEvoy and Scott Sutter.

In a dramatic turn of events, Scott's early exit in the last game left the door wide open for his rivals. Candace's third-place finish in her final game paved the way for Mike Soper to seize the opportunity. In a twist of fate, Mike found himself facing off against his wife, Amber, in the last game. With a significant chip lead, Mike clinched victory at his table, tying him with Candace at 28 points.

Ultimately, it was a tiebreaker that determined the winner, and Candace's second-place finish behind her father in the first game secured Mike's triumph, earning him not only the night's honors but also catapulting him to the top of the overall points leaderboard for the Winter Season.

Rick Hoag delivered another impressive performance, securing a well-deserved third-place finish. With just three weeks remaining in the season, the top five in the league championship standings—Mike Soper, Scott Sutter, Rick Hoag, Candace Sutter, and Jerry Houghtaling—are poised for an exhilarating finish.

The stage is set for a thrilling conclusion to what has already been an unforgettable season of competition at The Mayfield Tavern. As players gear up for the final stretch, anticipation is running high, and fans can expect nothing short of fireworks on the felt.
