Double points nights are always exciting, and as we roll into the final week of Month Two of the Free Poker Network’s Fall Season, this was the moment for players to stake their claim on the leaderboard. Even with a few regulars absent for Thanksgiving week, we welcomed a new Maverick, Oliver Saylor, bringing us to a strong field of twenty-six players ready to throw down.

Game One set the tone early, with Rick Hoag, Justin Macsuga, and Mike Soper each taking their tables and putting the rest of the room on notice.
Game Two kept things tight as three new names rose to the top—Tyler Macsuga, Lew Iler, and Alex Goyette—ensuring there would be no early runaway on this double-points night.

When the totals were calculated, Mike Soper and Rick Hoag held the lead, but five other players were still within striking distance. The final game would decide everything.

Game Three delivered.
Iler was the first to fall, and one by one the remaining challengers lost momentum—except for Mike Soper, who did exactly what you have to do when the pressure is highest: he won his table and locked up the top spot for the night.
Justin Macsuga claimed second, while Rick Hoag rounded out the podium in third.

With twenty-six players and double points in play, the Fall Season leaderboard was shaken up in a big way. Mike Soper rocketed into first, followed by Rick Hoag, Amber Soper, Alex Goyette, and George Pethers rounding out the top five.

Now we head into the final month of the season, and the parity in the Maverick Poker League is undeniable—eight different winners so far, each earning a seat to the TOC. The finish line is in sight, but the field is wide open.

It’s going to be an incredible final stretch, and I for one can’t wait to see how it plays out.

See you on the felts, Mavericks!!!
