Blondie Wins - One Way or Another

On the very day Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, Georgeanne Blondie Parag saw her second victory in league play. As the last lady standing at the final table, she emerged victorious over her competitors all while dealing with untimely sciatic pain. Witnessing her triumph was truly an awesome experience.

As the table progressed to three-handed play, her once big stack had dwindled down to just a few big blinds. But like her glamorous namesake from the late 70’s, she said to herself that “The Tide is High but I’m holding on. I’m gonna be your number one. I’m not the kinda girl who gives up just like that. Oh no”. Through some well timed all-ins, she preceded to rebuild her stack and bring upon her opponents’ Rapture. First to fall was Michael Rex Maczynski. Blondie called Rex’s BB raise of x3. Flop came Kxx and all the money entered the pot. Rex tabled KT while Blondie turned over KQ. The board ran out dry and Blondie entered heads-up play with an approx. 4-to-1 chip lead.

Blondie then entered into a half-hour battle of all-in attrition with Roger Rounder Senigo. It was truly a seesaw battle where the chip lead shifted hands half a dozen times. It culminated when Blondie looked down on the button at a beautiful AT. She called and The Rounder raised to x3 after some confident posturing. In the blink of an eye, Blondie went all in and must have been thinking, “Call me! You can call me any day or night”. After twenty seconds of poised bravado, Rounder called and flipped over AK. All the joy of confidence and reassurance that comes with domination were quickly shattered like a Heart of Glass as the flop ran out AT4. With a 4 on the turn providing two more outs to a split. River card was a blank securing Blondie with the pot. Stacks were matched and Blondie literally had one chip more than Rounder.
