First Annual Playmakers Classic

Congrats to Corey Eslinger for taking down the First Anual Playmakers Classic and over $6,000!!

Corey is also the league champ at JT Cigarro's and we'll look forward to seeing him at the championship next weekend...

Several Dakota Poker League regulars also cashed in this event.

Season 1 Championship Tournament May 05

What a tournament...90 players started the 2-day event.  Despite a 5000 starting chip count & 1/2 hour blinds, 3 players were finished in the opening round!  The play was fast & furious and it was obvious that everyone who made it this far was playing to win. Larry Ristvedt (Elks, Fargo) got off to a great start, as did Jeff Neiber (Trophy's, Wahpeton).  Many league champs including overall points leader Casey Asche (Playmakers, Fargo) couldn't get anything going and fell early in the tournament...

Summer ended with a bang at Hagge’s Bar & Grill over the weekend of August 26th-27th.  Two championship tournaments ended the “Summer Poker Challenge” promotion across the Free Poker Network of bars in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota and Nebraska.

Dakota Poker League members get opportunity to meet, play cards with world champ!  We had a great time meeting Greg Raymer and the other poker industry movers and shakers including Allyn Jaffrey Shulman (Card Player Magazine), Lee Jones (Poker Stars) and Nigel Payne (Paradise Poker), among others.  All were present to support the internet poker bill.  However, HB1509 & HCR 3035 were defeated.
