News and events from the North Dakota region. The original since 2005.
This weekend at the Bismarck Eagles Club FPN will hold the North Dakota State Championship which is the second largest state championship we hold. Altogether there are 173 qualifiers from all over the state. Since North Dakota is the second largest participating state there will be 15 new state champions this weekend. All fifteen people will win a WSOP buy-in on June 30th and participate in the National Championship on June 29th where they will have the opportunity to win a $10,000 Main Event WSOP Seat. As a bonus we will be doing a side game freeroll at 6pm for any busted players or spectators where we will give another National Championship seat away.
Long time league player Mark Carey from Minot, ND just by passed the ND State Championship directly into the National Championship in Las Vegas on June 29th by getting drawn in the two pair or better drawing. Mark scratched off two aces and two kings at the Lucky Strike Lounge in Minot to get qualified for the drawing. He will now play at the ND State Championship shooting for a double stack at Nationals.
Long time league friend Mitch Schock from Bismarck, ND has done it again. Mitch is competing in Black Hawk, CO in a WSOP circuit event. He bought into a $365 tournament and took it down to win a WSOP ring and a $33,284 payday. The ring complements his WSOP bracelet he won less than a couple years ago. If you have ever met Mitch at one of our events you know what a down to earth, but high energetic guy he is, a true poker enthusiast. Way to go Mitch!
