New Yorkers met for the FPN Poker Pro state championship and after it was all said and done the big winners were Ajay Bhavani from Murphy's Bar, Earl Hollenbeck from Jack's Family Restaurant, Don Whitley from Darby O'Gills, and Mike Gibowicz from McGillicuddy's. That brings the total NY contingent to 6 players who have qualified for the exclusive national final. Good luck!
John Murphy has become the fifth scratch card winner. John plays out of Murphy's bar in Mineola, NY. He scratched off a straight flush 2 of diamonds through the 6 of diamonds to win. Not only is he qualified for the National Championship in December by hitting the straight flush he also won $200 in cash.
This past weekend in Tannersville, New York at the Spinning Room players from all over the state gathered to try their luck at qualifying for the Sin City Showdown National Championship. In the end the four lucky winners were Jack Carter, Martin Koschik, Colleen Swedish, and John Bauer. Both Colleen and John won airfare allowance and hotel packages for placing first and second respectively.
Phillip Motell aka "PhilMo78" of Horsehead, NY was newest winner of the Free Poker Network. Phillip competed in the monthly FPN Online tournament on the first of every month and took it down to win his way to Las Vegas. Phillip wins a hotel stay and a check for airfare allowance in December. When contacted Phillip said he is, "Super Thrilled" to win and looks forward to going to Las Vegas! Over 50 players have qualified for the upcoming New York state championship on May 7th where four (4) players will earn trophies and a seat at the Sin City Showdown National Final in Las Vegas. The top 2 players will earn additional hotel accommodations and airfare allowance as well. The state final is always entertaining and a great chance to meet players from around the league. A big thanks goes out to the management at the Spinning Room in Tannersville for hosting this championship tournament.
